Happy to celebrate “Fourth of July”
I want to talk to you about a very special day in the United States — the Fourth of July.
Most of us have seen the fireworks, the flags waving everywhere, and all the celebrations in the streets, right? But have you ever stopped to wonder — what exactly are we celebrating?
July 4th marks the birth of the United States as an independent nation. Back in 1776 — over 240 years ago — the 13 American colonies were under British rule. But they decided they had had enough. They no longer wanted to be taxed without having a voice. They were done following the orders of a king across the ocean.
So, a group of brave leaders — like Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams — came together and wrote something powerful: the Declaration of Independence. On July 4th, that document was officially adopted, and with it, a new nation was born.
Since then, every year, Americans celebrate not just the events of that day, but what they stood for: freedom, unity, and the hope of a better future.
So next time you see fireworks lighting up the sky on the Fourth of July, remember — they’re more than just a beautiful show. They’re a celebration of a powerful moment in history, and of the ideals this country was founded on.
